Course Summary
Learn about the United States! Because there are 50 states, there are 50 videos lessons! Each state also includes 1-3 worksheets. We will cover topics such as the flag, capital, symbols, climate, fun facts and where it is located on the map.
What is on the state flag? How is the weather and climate? What makes each state unique? Where is the state located on the map? What is the capital? How big is it compared to other states? How many people live there? Does this state have tornadoes or hurricanes? Does this state have earthquakes or volcanoes? I provide printable pages for each lesson. We will color them together as we learn about the state of the day. I use pictures and well edited videos for each lesson. The flexible schedule allows your younger learners to watch the videos and color the learning sheets at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a time that is convenient to them to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lessons Monday through Friday (5 videos per week for 10 weeks). I will also share youtube videos with catchy songs that are helpful to recalling the states and capitals.
Student Interaction: Students will be provided with a blank map of the USA, and 1-2 learning pages about each state. As we go through each state, students will draw pictures, place stickers and color. Students will share their colored sheets and at least one thing they learned about the state in the classroom. The prizes will be totaled at the end of each week and shared by live video. The prizes will be comprised of the groups total submissions. I use my ice cream magnets and layer them on my whiteboard. Each correct answer earns another scoop for the giant ice cream cone. The more correct answers the team gets - the more extravagant the ice cream cone will be. Throughout each week, we will be posting our crafts in the Outschool classroom, sharing videos and discussing our favorite part of the week (all in the Outschool classroom)!

As a homeschooling mother of five, I felt led by the Lord to create an online educational platform. My style of learning didn't fit into the mold of what was out there. Not to mention, the rising prices of other educational platforms limited what classes my children could enjoy. Sifting through online classes and full curriculum that aligns with Christian values is tricky. Today, it seems most Christian curriculum is boring bookwork and/or very costly. I sought to combine everything that I value in education. Teach Me Truth provides entertaining video lessons, live online classes, online games, quizzes, worksheets, and community - all designed by independent teachers within our nonprofit platform.
