In this 2 session self-paced class, students will learn the books of both the Old and New Testament through song.
Course Summary
Learn the Books of the Bible Through Music!
Make memorizing the books of the Bible fun with songs, movement, and rhythm! In this self-paced music class, students will learn to sing the books of both the Old and New Testaments while building foundational music skills. Perfect for beginners, this course introduces:
Solfege syllables (Do, Re, Mi)
Kodály hand signs
Quarter notes and half notes
Basic rhythm and music reading
Bible memorization through catchy songs
Students will complete two engaging video lessons (approximately 25 minutes each), one covering the Old Testament and one covering the New Testament. Along the way, they'll sing, move, and practice musical concepts that make learning both music and Scripture enjoyable.

Students can practice singing with the accompaniment tracks as many times as they'd like, making it easy to build confidence and remember the books of the Bible. This course works well as a stand-alone introduction to music and Bible memorization or as a preview of my semester-long music classes. **No previous music experience is required**, and because the course is completely self-paced, students can learn whenever it fits their schedule.
This class includes two 25 minute videos for the student to watch. Students will learn solfege syllables and hand signs (do, re, mi) and rhythms (quarter, half notes). Lyrics to both songs will be provided, as well as piano and ukulele accompaniments for students to practice with after class.
This class is intended as a preview class for students interested in taking my semester music classes, but can be taken as a stand-alone class as well. No prior knowledge is required and there is no work outside of class.

I am passionate about Music and Christian education! I was a Music teacher in 3 Christian schools (Guam and NY) for 20 years. I have taught K-12 General Music, Band, Choir, Ukulele, Music Theory and Music History, as well as private piano and ukulele lessons. I switched to teaching online in 2017 so I could stay home with our miracle baby boy. For the past 3 years I have taught virtual music classes for a local Christian school as well as piano and ukulele lessons via zoom. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Bob Jones University and a Master’s Degree in Church Music from Pensacola Christian College. I am currently K-12 Music certified through ASCI.
