Learning That Feels Like Play (Because It Should!)
Getting your first grader to focus on learning can sometimes feel like trying to catch a butterfly—adorable but impossible to pin down. Between endless questions, wiggles, and “Can I have a snack?” requests, teaching letters and numbers might be your new full-time job. Plus, social skills? Your child’s current “social circle” is mostly stuffed animals. Our live, interactive first grade classes turn those wiggles into giggles with 25 minutes of hands-on, playful learning every session.
Here’s what your little learner will explore:
🎉 Socialization: Chat, share, and play learning games with real kids—not just teddy bears.
➕ Math: Counting, number recognition, simple addition and subtraction, patterns, sorting, and fun memory games.
📚 Reading: Phonics, word blending, CVC words, and the exciting start of reading.
🧠 Reading Comprehension: Interactive games and quizzes designed for little brains.
🧪 Science: Simple, hands-on experiments to spark curiosity (and a few “wow” moments).
🙏 Bible & Faith: Explore God’s Word through short devotionals, stories, prayer, and meaningful discussions that help children grow in faith and character.

Tuesdays: Reading
Our sessions are packed with hands-on, playful activities that make learning to read exciting and memorable. We mix in games, silly challenges, and interactive reading activities that keep kids laughing and learning at the same time. From spelling fun to engaging comprehension games, every lesson is designed to build confidence, spark curiosity, and help your child fall in love with reading! 📚✨
Wednesdays: Bible & Science
Wednesdays are all about wonder, discovery, and growing in faith! 🌟 Each class begins with an inspiring devotional from Louie Giglio that helps kids connect with God in a meaningful and relatable way. Then we jump into exciting, hands-on science experiments that bring learning to life! Kids will explore key scientific terms, dive into simple STEM concepts, and practice using the scientific method—all while having fun and getting a little messy. 🧪 Each student will also receive a printable science journal to record observations, draw conclusions, and reflect on what they’ve learned. It’s the perfect blend of faith and science, helping children see the beauty of God’s creation while building curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking skills.
Thursdays: Math Games
Get ready for math like you’ve never seen it before—fun, hands-on, and full of adventure! 🎲✨ Each Thursday, we turn learning into play with exciting math games, creative play clay activities, and even interactive escape room challenges with fun storylines to keep kids engaged and motivated. As they solve puzzles and complete challenges, students will build essential kindergarten math skills like telling time, counting money, adding, subtracting, skip counting, recognizing patterns, and identifying shapes and polygons. Every activity is designed to make math feel like a game, helping kids build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and actually look forward to learning math each week!
About the Teacher
Elizabeth McMann
As a homeschooling mother of five, and teacher since 2017, I felt led by the Lord to create an online educational platform. My style of learning didn't fit into the mold of what was out there. Not to mention, the rising prices of other educational platforms limited what classes my children could enjoy. Sifting through online classes and full curriculum that aligns with Christian values is tricky. Today, it seems most Christian curriculum is boring bookwork and/or very costly. I sought to combine everything that I value in education. Teach Me Truth provides entertaining video lessons, live online classes, online games, quizzes, worksheets, and community - all designed by independent teachers within our nonprofit platform.
